Xhaka joins Leverkusen and signed a contract until 2028

Bayer Leverkusen has officially announced that they have signed a contract with Xhaka until 2028. He will wear the number 34 jersey for the team.

Xhaka said, "I am very familiar with the Bundesliga; I have been following it closely while in London. Bayer Leverkusen is a club with a rich history and great ambition. More importantly, it is a club with a bright future that gives you goals and aspirations to achieve. I am really looking forward to the future."

Xhaka had reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen as early as May. After Arsenal secured the signing of Ben White for £105 million, Arsenal also gave the green light for Zakaria's departure. It is reported that Arsenal will receive a transfer fee of €25 million, and Zakaria will sign a five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

Xhaka joined Arsenal in the summer of 2016 and had served as the captain of the team. In the 2022-2023 season, Zakaria made 47 appearances for Arsenal in various competitions, including 43 starts, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists.
