Mourinho has identified Son Heung-min as one of his top signing targets
According to a report from the British media outlet TEAMtalk, Fenerbahce's new head coach, Mourinho, has identified Son Heung-min as one of his top signing targets.
The Tottenham star's contract is set to expire in 2025, and former Spurs manager Mourinho is keen to bring him to Fenerbahçe amidst the uncertainty surrounding his future. Mourinho has included the forward in his summer transfer list. Currently, there has been no contact between the clubs, but Son is one of the options being "evaluated" by Fenerbahce.
The Portuguese coach knows Son Heung-min very well, as the Korean star was a key player for Tottenham during their time together. Under Mourinho's management, Son contributed nearly 40 goals to the team. Mourinho believes Son would be a suitable addition to Fenerbahçe.
Son Heung-min is also a target for Saudi Arabian clubs, such as Al-Ittihad. This team primarily aims to sign Salah, but negotiations with the Egyptian international have stalled, making the Tottenham star increasingly attractive to them.
If Tottenham cannot secure a new contract with Son Heung-min in the short term, Al-Ittihad might offer him a lucrative deal. Contract renewal talks with Son have been ongoing for several weeks, and Tottenham remains optimistic about reaching an agreement.
