Antonio Conte recently gave an interview to the club's official channel
Antonio Conte, the newly appointed head coach of Napoli, recently gave an interview to the club's official channel, discussing his feelings and connections with the team.
About Napoli
"When I think of Napoli, many things come to mind. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and its people are full of passion. I know this will be a great experience, not just in football, but in life as well. I am full of enthusiasm and very much looking forward to this experience."
About his initial feelings on becoming Napoli's head coach
"I believe that as a player or coach, if you have the chance to work in Napoli, it is a unique opportunity. If someone is fortunate enough to get this chance, they should not miss it."
About his connections with Napoli
"The Stadio Maradona brings back wonderful memories for me. During a match between Napoli and Lecce, I had the honor of marking Maradona. We ultimately lost the match 2-3 because Carnevale scored, but what stands out most in my memory is that my first Serie A goal was scored at the Stadio Maradona while defending against Maradona. I am very proud of that." (Note: On November 1989, in the 11th round of Serie A, Carnevale scored twice, Maradona provided two assists, and Conte scored his first and only goal during his time at Lecce.)
About the message he wants to convey to the fans
"I only want to say one thing: we will give our all and work hard."
