Two Saudi Pro League clubs initiate discussions to sign Bruno Fernandes

Two Saudi Arabian clubs have begun discussions to sign Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United, as the Portuguese’s future is uncertain. According to Rudy Galetti, Bruno Fernandes could be the subject of massive offers from Saudi Arabia. The PIF and at least two clubs have initiated discussions with the 29-year-old Manchester United mainstay. Whether the Portuguese midfielder will leave Old Trafford remains the question as this particular transfer story continues to pick up momentum.

Two Saudi clubs negotiating for Bruno Fernandes
Negotiating might be a strong word in this context, given Portugal only bowed out of the Euros on Friday, and Bruno Fernandes was a big part of the team. The 29-year-old Manchester United mainstay has been in the papers regarding his immediate future at Manchester United, with many outlets casting doubts about whether he fits into INEOS’ system.

With Erik ten Hag’s stay now confirmed, Fernandes was not keen on leaving the club this summer, as his camp had held considerable talks with the club. Manchester United were also considering a new contract for their captain amid reports that they are happy with him in the team.

However, things seem to have changed with the reporting on Fernandes’ situation, as a recent report stated that Manchester United had permitted Saudi clubs to hold talks with the 29-year-old midfielder about a possible move

Now, the PIF and two Saudi Arabian clubs are reportedly initiating discussions for the midfielder. Rudy Galetti also insists that Fernandes might be open to exploring the possibilities, as he has given his green light to find out what projects arrive at his table.

Will Fernandes leave Manchester United?
Manchester United could see Fernandes’s departure as a major blow, and the loss of such a player will force them to find a huge replacement. Should they choose to sell him, it would be for a considerable fee, especially now that Saudi clubs are keen.

Whether he will want to leave now that Ten Hag is staying put is an entirely separate question in this context. Much will depend on how the Manchester United manager views Fernandes’ role in the summer and the money Saudi clubs will offer to the midfielder and him in the form of a lucrative contract.
