En-Nesyri has agreed in principle to join Monaco

According to L'Equipe, Lens midfielder En-Nesyri has agreed in principle to join Monaco, with the transfer fee likely to be between €15 million and €20 million.

The 23-year-old Moroccan star joined Lens last summer for a low fee of around €600,000 from the French third-division team Nancy. Despite low expectations, he delivered an impressive performance, making 31 appearances in various competitions and contributing 1 goal and 3 assists. Such performances have attracted the attention of several teams, including Monaco.

With a coaching change and a desire to alter their operational strategy, Lens is looking to reduce expenses and raise funds, and they are willing to sell some key players. Meanwhile, Monaco, participating in the Champions League this season, is seeking to strengthen their midfield, especially with Youssouf Fofana potentially moving to AC Milan.

L'Equipe understands that En-Nesyri has already agreed in principle to join Monaco, and the next step is for the two clubs to reach an agreement on the transfer. Lens hopes to receive a transfer fee of €15 million to €20 million for the Moroccan midfielder, whose current contract runs until the summer of 2027.
