After demanding an apology from Messi, Argentina's Deputy Minister of Sports was dismissed

Official news: Julio Garro, Argentina's Deputy Minister of Sports, has been dismissed after demanding apologies from Messi and the President of the Argentine Football Association.

Following Argentina's Copa América victory, midfielder Enzo sang a song targeting the French team during a live broadcast on social media, which contained allegedly racist content, sparking controversy. In response, Julio Garro demanded that Argentina's national team captain Messi and AFA President Tapia publicly apologize for the incident.

Garro's remarks caused a significant reaction within the government, leading to his dismissal. Julio claimed he did not make such comments, but in a widely circulated interview video, he clearly stated that Messi should apologize. The Argentine President's office announced that no government has the authority to dictate what comments the national team, World Cup champions, two-time Copa América champions, or any other citizen should make, think, or do. Therefore, Julio Garro no longer serves as the Deputy Minister of Sports.
