Leny Yoro's £52m Move to Manchester United Nears Completion
Manchester United are on the verge of signing Lille's highly-rated defender Leny Yoro, with the 18-year-old set to undergo a medical in Manchester. The clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of €62 million (£52.06 million) for Yoro, who has attracted attention from top European sides, including Real Madrid.
Yoro, who made his professional debut for Lille at just 16, was initially included in Thierry Henry's provisional France squad for the Olympics but was later omitted due to Lille's Champions League commitments. His addition is expected to strengthen United's central defense, following the departure of Raphael Varane and uncertainty surrounding Victor Lindelof's future.
Manchester United have also shown interest in Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt. However, the club is unlikely to sign both defenders, with future acquisitions contingent on squad space and financial considerations.
The Red Devils recently secured Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £36.5 million and have agreed to a £27 million deal with Marseille for Mason Greenwood. Additionally, Willy Kambwala has moved to Villarreal for around £9 million.
Leny Yoro's imminent arrival marks a significant step in Manchester United's summer transfer plans, as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
