La Liga club Rayo Vallecano officially announced the signing of 33-year-old Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, James Rodriguez has agreed to a one-year contract with Rayo Vallecano, with an option for an additional season, as he aims to return to La Liga.

At 33 years old, James Rodríguez had an impressive performance in the Copa América this summer, appearing in six matches, scoring one goal, and providing six assists. His efforts helped Colombia reach the final, and he was named the best player of the tournament.

James's professional career began in 2006 with Colombian club Envigado. He then moved to Argentina's Banfield in 2008. In 2010, he signed with Portuguese club Porto, where he played for three seasons before transferring to Monaco for the 2013-14 season. Following the 2014 World Cup, Real Madrid signed the Colombian star for nearly 80 million euros. During his time at Real Madrid, James made 125 appearances, scoring 37 goals and providing 42 assists, especially showcasing his best form in the Champions League. Now, he is set to return to Spanish football.
