Napoli Signs Scottish Duo McTominay and Gilmour

Napoli has bolstered its squad with the signings of Scotland midfielders Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour. McTominay, 27, joins from Manchester United for £25.7 million after spending his entire career with the club, which he joined at the age of five. His move to Italy comes as United looks to adjust their squad following the arrival of Manuel Ugarte from PSG, which would have limited McTominay's playing time.

Gilmour, 23, arrives from Brighton in a deal worth an initial £12 million, with potential add-ons of £4 million. Having made 60 appearances for Brighton since joining from Chelsea in 2022, Gilmour reunites with Napoli's manager Antonio Conte, who played a significant role in the transfer. Conte previously managed Chelsea during Gilmour's time in the youth setup.
