Piatek: It's a shame that Szczesny is not here

Polish forward Krzysztof Piatek attended a national team press conference where he discussed Wojciech Szczesny's retirement, his recent excellent form, the level of the Turkish Super Lig, and the upcoming match against Scotland.

Szczesny's Retirement
"Kuba (Modrzyński) has made it very clear. He is an amazing player and a very important figure in the dressing room. I have faced him in Serie A, and I even scored against him. It's unfortunate that he's not with us; he could have been a great help."

Recent Hat-Trick
"When a striker scores three goals, it shows they're in great form. I'm in excellent shape right now, having scored eight goals in nine matches, which boosts my confidence. I carried over my good form from the end of last season. I'm satisfied with my current condition."

"I hope to perform well in the match against Scotland. We’re in good form, and the four of us will all be fighting for a starting position. I believe we can put in a strong performance against Scotland and in the upcoming match against Croatia."

Thoughts on Scotland
"It will definitely be a tough match because it's on their home turf, and they play very aggressively. Our encounter in 2022 was a friendly, and we drew 1-1 in Glasgow. That match wasn’t easy, and I even got injured during it. This time, the game will certainly be more intense, but we are ready."

Thoughts on the Level of the Turkish Super Lig
"It's not as strong as Serie A or the Bundesliga, that's for sure. I think it's a league that emphasizes physical confrontations. Facing their defenders is tough because they defend tightly and are very strong. However, it's hard for me to compare it to other European leagues because I haven't played in countries like Spain, England, or Belgium. Although it's not among the top four leagues, it's not as weak as some might think. Just look at the players Turkish clubs are bringing in, like Osimhen. The Turkish league is getting stronger year by year."
