Manchester City Makes History with First Club World Cup Title, Their Fifth Trophy of the Year
In the Club World Cup final, Manchester City claimed their first-ever title by defeating Flamengo 4-0. Alvarez scored twice, while Foden found the net and contributed to an own goal.
According to statistics, Alvarez becomes the third player in world football history to win the Copa Libertadores, Copa America, UEFA Champions League, FIFA World Cup, and Club World Cup. The previous two players achieving this feat were the Brazilian duo Cafu and Dida.
Manchester City now stands as the first English team to secure Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup titles in the same year.
Manager Pep Guardiola also becomes the only coach to lead three different teams to victory in the Club World Cup.
