Marc Bernal's injury is a cruciate ligament tear
According to reports, Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal's injury is now likely to rule him out for the rest of the season.
The news comes from Toni Juanmartí, a senior Barcelona correspondent for *Mundo Deportivo*. Sources close to the locker room have confirmed that the young Barcelona midfielder, who made a splash early this season under coach Frick, has suffered a torn cruciate ligament. The 17-year-old Marc Bernal collided with Palazón in the final minutes of the match and was unable to continue. He received medical treatment from the team doctor but did not return to the field, as Frick had already used up all three substitution slots.
By the end of the match, Barcelona was down to only 10 players on the field. Bernal ultimately had to leave the Vallecas Stadium with the help of medical staff and was accompanied by doctors back to the locker room because he could no longer move his leg.
